Southend council providing ‘improving housing service’

Southend borough council has received praise from the Audit Commission, it has been revealed.

In the commission’s latest corporate assessment report, those working for the public sector body were commended for making improvements to its housing services, in addition to providing "excellent" cultural, leisure and housing benefits services.

Leeds council ‘making continued improvements’

Leeds city council has been commended in a recent report by the Audit Commission, it has been revealed.

According to the institution, those working for the public sector body were deemed to have been offering an improved service over the past four years and are now "performing well".

Camden council commended by Audit Commission

Those working for a public sector body in north London have been praised by the Audit Commission in a new report.

In the commission’s corporate assessment study Camden council was stated to be providing a strong level of leadership and being responsive to the needs and requirements of its residents.

Audit Commission praises St Helens council ‘for strong leadership’

St Helens council has been the latest local authority to be praised by the Audit Commission, it has been revealed.

In a new report by the commission those working for the north-west public sector body were commended for having an understanding of local people’s needs and working to reduce inequalities for deprived communities in the town.

Local government ‘must go online’ to build the workforce of the future

Online channels must become the “fundamental tool” for public sector employers to win the recruitment war for talent.

That is the view of Richard Tyrie, co-founder of online talent management specialist JGP, after further evidence emerged that online advertising spending including recruitment is rapidly overhauling that of traditional media channels.

UK online trade body the Internet Advertising Bureau recently reported a 38 per cent leap in revenues for 2007 with online recruitment helping to boost Internet channels. (more…)
