Cornish third sector ‘provides value’
Those operating in the third sector make a vital contribution to the economy of Cornwall, it has been reported.
In a study carried out by Cornwall Voluntary Sector Forum, it was indicated there are some 3,000 voluntary and community groups across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, which are worth around £777 million, Third Sector reports.

Speaking at the launch of Volunteers Week, Margaret Ritchie, social development minister in Northern Ireland, stated that volunteers for charities and community group across the region play a crucial role in the development of society.
Brighton charity receives community grant
An umbrella charity in Brighton has received a grant to help improve the services it offers to those working for other voluntary and community groups within the area, it has been revealed.
The Resource Centre has benefited from £4,190 in funds from the Argus Appeal.
Fundraising survey to be launched
A new survey is to be launched tracking the opinions of those working in the third sector, it has emerged.
Carried out by the Resource Alliance and Blackbaud Europe, the State of the Not-for-Profit Industry questionnaire will ask fundraisers on how they communicate with donors and their most effective fundraising techniques.
European voluntary qualification to be launched
A continental-wide accreditation scheme for those involved in the voluntary sector is to be launched this autumn, it has been revealed.
Based on the European Qualification Framework, the Environments for Learning initiative will allow those operating for environmental charities to have the skills and knowledge they learn during volunteering formally recognised, ThirdSector reports.
