Posted in Local Govt, Planning on the June 11th, 2009

Those working for a local authority in Kent are providing good services to residents, it has been reported.

An Audit Commission inspection of Gravesham borough council reveals that those with local authority jobs are working well alongside partner organisation in delivering improvements - such as making the town centre safer and improving housing estates - which are benefitting local people.

Indeed, its work with others has seen the authority help make improvements to people’’s health and given them access to a range of training and activities.

Consequently, the council has been given two stars out of a possible three.

Pointing out that Gravesham is a place "where there are a lot of good things happening", Claire Bryce-Smith, senior manager for the Audit Commission, states that "the council has improved parts of Gravesham - including Gravesend town centre - and works well to improve the quality of life for local people".

The news comes as an inspection carried out by the organisation reveals that Broxbourne borough council is providing a "good" level of service to residents, with its work alongside local partners particularly highlighted.
