ALMO receives Audit Commission praise
Those working for a housing association in the West Midlands have been commended by the Audit Commission, it has been revealed.
In its report, the commission gave Sandwell Homes - an arms length management organisation (ALMO) based in West Bromwich - a three-star rating for the services it provides.
Such a score is the highest one attainable, with the ALMO also reported to have "excellent" prospects for achieving future improvements.
Deborah Good, senior manager for the Audit Commission, claimed to be "delighted" that the commission has given its highest rating to Sandwell Homes.
She said: "Residents are benefiting from a range of excellent services including a significant programme of works to improve homes."
It was also reported that the ALMO provides quality information to customers and keeps it estates clean and well-maintained, in news that may be of interest to those seeking housing jobs via a regional recruitment portal.
Earlier this month, Liverpool-based Cobalt Housing was given two stars out of three by the Audit Commission for the level of service it provides to its tenants.
