Trafford council ‘offering responsive service’
Those working for a local authority in Greater Manchester have been praised for the provision of services to its residents, it has been revealed.
In an Audit Commission report, Trafford council was given two stars out of a possible three and cited as having "promising prospects" for achieving future improvements.
James Foster, senior manager of the Audit Commission, said: "The council provides good access to services that are responsive and are based on an understanding of users’ needs."
Among the areas the local authority was praised for operating well in partnerships to make effective use of public buildings and ensuring value for money is being offered.
Such news might interest those seeking work in the public sector via a regional recruitment portal.
It was also reported that local residents - in particular older tenants and younger people - are having a role in developing services which are an accurate reflection of the area’s cultural diversity.
Earlier this week, the Audit Commission claimed that Tower Hamlets council is offering "some excellent services" to its residents in areas such as social care, creating employment opportunities and regeneration.
