In its corporate assessment report, the commission commended the services provided by those working for Solihull metropolitan borough council, rating it three out a maximum of four.

Such is the assertion of nfpSynergy, where its Local Authorities Monitor study showed that two-thirds of local authority councillors and officers believe that charities can provide as cost-effective a service as private companies.
Hull council commended for community safety services
The community safety services provided by those working for Hull city council has received praise by the Audit Commission, it has been revealed.
In a report by the commission’s inspection team, the local authority was deemed as offering a "good" level of service in terms of reducing levels of crime across the city which are down by over 40 per cent from figures recorded in 2003-04.
