Halton council ‘raising image of area’
Those working for a public sector body in the north-west of England have been praised by the Audit Commission, it has been revealed.
In the organisation’s corporate assessment report, Halton borough council was commended for taking steps to improve its residents’ overall quality of life.
Furthermore, the local authority was cited as providing a wide range of services for older people and reducing crime rates.
Peter Forrester, senior manager at the Audit Commission, said: "Halton borough council is determined to raise the image of the area and the aspirations of local people."
Mr Forrester went on to praise the local authority’s operations with network partners to "improve the lives" of residents.
Additionally, the commission reported that the council is providing a cost-effective service and has strong leadership.
In other news, Hull city council was recently stated by the Audit Commission to be offering a "good" service in reducing levels of crime.
