Northamptonshire community groups ’set for funding increase’
Those working for community groups and charities in Northamptonshire could be in line to receive a financial boost, it has been revealed.
Following the winning of a government competition, Northamptonshire Community Foundation (NCF) has received a total of £807,000 to distribute to smaller third sector groups across the county.
Meanwhile, the Grassroots Grants initiative will see any money donated by local businesses to community organisations in the area be matched by the Office for the Third Sector, the Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph reports.
Linda Savage, from the Rushden Highfield Improvement Project Community Association, which has previously received a grant from the NCF, said: "Funding like this is invaluable.
"It allowed us to receive management training which as volunteers we would not have been able to pay for ourselves."
Such news might be of interest to those operating in the third sector which are looking to improve the skills framework of their operations.
Earlier this month, Citizens Online and Talktalk invited third sector groups to apply for funding to improve their skills with digital technology following the launch of its Innovations in the Community awards programme.
