Audit Commission praises Wandsworth’s Supporting People programme
Those working for a public sector body in London have been praised by the Audit Commission, it has been revealed.
In the commissions’ report it was reported that Wandsworth council is offering a "good" level of service in regards to its Supporting People initiative.
Receiving two stars out of a possible three, the local authority was also reported as having "excellent" prospects of achieving further improvements.
Hugh Boatswain, lead housing inspector for the Audit Commission, commended Wandsworth council for its operations with network partners in providing a service which is both effective and value for money.
He said: "There has been a strong commitment to the programme by the council and its partners and this has led to significant improvements in the quality of housing support services for many of the most vulnerable people in the community."
Earlier this year, Kent county council’s supporting people programme reported that Dartford council is providing a cost-effective service and is looking to make continuous improvements.
