South Lakes receives praise for housing management services

Those working for South Lakes Housing have received high praise in a recent report published by the Audit Commission, it has emerged.

Inspectors found that those with jobs at the Kendal-based public sector organisation had a good understanding of customer requirements and were effectively delivering home improvements and good quality maintenance services to its tenants.

Mid Suffolk council receives Audit Commission praise

Those working for a public sector body in the east of England have been praised for the housing services which they provide, it has emerged.

In a report by the Audit Commission, Mid Suffolk district council was deemed to be performing well and as such was given a two-star rating, with "promising" prospects for future improvements.

Third sector workers ‘need to make use of social media’

It is important for those working for charities to make use of social media websites, it has been reported.

At a panel discussion hosted by digital agency Enable Interactive, it was revealed that sites such as YouTube, MySpace, Bebo and Facebook are being increasingly used by third sector bodies, Mad.co.uk reports.

In a recent report by the commission, Gravesham borough council was deemed as providing a "good" level of service in terms of ensuring community safety.

New support agency created for south London charities

Those operating for charities and voluntary groups in Southwark could be on track to receive improved levels of support and guidance, it has been revealed.

With responsibility for around 2,000 voluntary and community organisations operating across the London borough, Southwark Community Care Forum and Southwark Action for Voluntary Organisations have merged to create a support agency for such third sector bodies.
