Posted in Housing on the June 20th, 2008

Those working for South Lakes Housing have received high praise in a recent report published by the Audit Commission, it has emerged.

Inspectors found that those with jobs at the Kendal-based public sector organisation had a good understanding of customer requirements and were effectively delivering home improvements and good quality maintenance services to its tenants.

Furthermore, the report concluded that the organisation had good links as network partners with local authorities in helping it to deliver strategic objectives.

It was also noted that tenants were receiving a service which provides good value for money.

Overall, the arms length management organisation was given a two-star rating

Paul Clark, the Audit Commission’s lead housing inspector for the region, commented: "South Lakes Housing is delivering good quality housing management services, while also carrying out large scale improvements to its homes."

Earlier this year, Sarah Webb, chief executive of the Charted Institute of Housing, claimed that those working in the housing sector are becoming increasingly in demand as the impact of the credit crunch continues to take hold.
