Wansbeck council praised for provision of services
A council operating in Northumberland has been praised by the Audit Commission, it has emerged.
In a report by the commission those working for Wansbeck district council were revealed providing its residents with good levels of access to services, including libraries.
Overall, the local authority received a two-star rating.
Marion Talbot, senior manager for the Audit Commission, also commended the council for its operations with network partners.
She said: "Wansbeck district council has worked well with partners to deliver accessible services which improve the quality of life for local people.
"It has made it easy for people to contact the council to get the services they require."
In addition, Wansbeck district council was praised for providing an extensive training programme to councillors and all "front-line" members of staff.
