Those working for a local authority in south London have been praised in a new report by the Audit Commission, it has been revealed.
In its latest study the commission’s corporate assessment team deemed that Croydon council is providing an improving service to its residents.
Claire Bryce-Smith, senior manager for the Audit Commission, said: "The council’s ambitions are that Croydon should have a quality environment, be a safe place and the town and district centres should thrive.
"These ambitions reflect the wishes of local people."
Croydon council was particularly praised for its work in improving the quality of life for residents across the borough, boosting residents’ health and delivering economic regeneration.
In addition, the council was praised for its work with various network partners - which were shown to include the police and the voluntary sector.
