Housing workers ‘greatly needed’
The work of those operating within the housing industry, which may include people with jobs in the third sector, has been commended.
Sarah Webb, chief executive of the Charted Institute of Housing (CIH), reported that housing workers, across all strands of the sector, will be increasingly in demand due to the continued difficulties in the wider financial markets.
She said: "The work of housing professionals, whether delivering new affordable homes to ever higher standards or supporting existing residents and improving their communities has never been more important or more needed."
Her comments come ahead of a three-day housing conference hosted by the CIH which will discus the need for affordable homes to be built in the face of rising building costs and declining availability of land.
Such news may be of interest to those seeking housing jobs via a regional recruitment portal.
Earlier this year, the Empty Homes Agency claimed that as the property sector experiences difficulties the government should take greater action to manage the rising number of vacant houses.
