New fundraising guidance launched

Posted in Charity/Voluntary on the April 21st, 2008

A new National Occupational Standards document has been released for those working in the third sector, it has been revealed.

Released by the UK Workforce Hub, the guide offers new advice on corporate fundraising, major gifts and direct marketing for fundraisers.

In addition, there is improved information to help such third sector workers improve upon their practice and knowledge in the work place.

Such news might be of interest to people seeking jobs in the third sector.

This guidance may also help third sector employers to improve the skills framework of their staff.

Carrick Allison, director of professional development at the institute, said: "This freely available resource will help paid fundraisers, volunteers and employers to perform better in their roles.

"It will help them to enhance the quality of service to donors and build the resources available to their organisations to make a genuine difference to society."

Last month, it was revealed that AskCharity had released guidance for voluntary and community groups on ways in which to improve their links with the press and gain media coverage.
