Scottish charities to receive management advice

Posted in Charity/Voluntary on the April 18th, 2008

Numerous charities operating in Scotland are set to receive management support, it has been revealed.

Those working for charitable and voluntary organisations north of the border will be on track to gain free advice on areas such as human resources, marketing, trading activities and IT from the Cranfield Trust.

Such guidance comes following the announcement by the Smart Fund that £400,000 per year in funding will be provided to the trust for the next five years, ThirdSector.co.uk reports.

Following on from such guidance, it may be possible that charities are able to improve the skills framework of their staff.

Meanwhile, the trust is looking to increase its number of volunteer consultants for the service by 350 to stand at 1,000.

Such news might be of interest to those looking for work in the voluntary sector.

In other news, Hazel Blears, secretary of state for communities and local government, recently claimed that the third sector plays an important part in the delivery of services and mobilising people into taking social action.
