Housing association changes in Wales
Changes to the ownership of thousands of homes in Wales have been announced.
In news that might interest people seeking jobs in the housing sector, it was revealed that some 3,600 properties will be transferred from ownership by the local authorities to Monmouthshire Housing Association as part of a new large scale voluntary transfer.
Overall, the deal is worth £45 million and was supported by Barclays Commercial Banking.
John Keegan, chief executive of Monmouthshire Housing Association, told the Western Mail: "The objective is to improve all properties to the Welsh Housing Quality Standard as quickly and efficiently as possible."
He went on to report that the housing association will work with members of the local community on determining what areas they view as important.
The news could be of interest to those looking for housing work via a regional recruitment portal.
In other public sector news, Housing Hartlepool was recently praised by the Audit Commission for offering its residents a "good" service.
