Grassroots charities ‘receive funding boost’

A number of grassroots charities have been handed a considerable funding boost by the banking group Lloyds TSB, it has been revealed.

The funds could benefit those people who work within the charity sector and maintain sustainable efficiencies and has come in the wake of the financial services firm revealing its latest set of annual results.

Funding boost announced for Welsh local authorities

Those working for public sector bodies in Wales are on track to receive a spending boost, it has emerged.

In an announcement by Dr Brian Gibbons, minister for social justice and local government in the principality, some £3 million is to be issued to local authorities during the next three years to increase the number of residents taking up council tax and housing benefits.
