Blyth council ‘offering improving service’

Posted in General on the February 29th, 2008

Jobseekers looking for a public sector role might be interested to read that a new report has praised Blyth Valley borough council for the access it provides to its services.

The Audit Commission gave the council two out of three stars - the equivalent to a "good" rating" - for allowing the public to easily make use of its services, which may include job search provisions, most of the time.

In addition, the report indicated that those working for the council have a "good understanding" of what local citizens need in terms of access.

"Blyth Valley borough council has introduced major changes to improve the quality of, and access to, services in the borough," commented Geoff Norris, Audit Commission senior manager.

"These changes have been driven by the desire of councillors to have improved facilities for local people."

Such news might interest those using a regional recruitment portal to find jobs in the public sector.

The Audit Commission recently commended Durham county council for offering strongly-led services that provided good value for money.
