Health and social care sector receive funding boost
Those working in the health and social care profession may be set to witness a funding boost for the organisations that they work for, it has been revealed.
An estimated £27 million is to be ploughed into social enterprises offering such services.
The grant has been made through the Department of Health’s Social Enterprise Investment fund, increasing its total value to £100 million.
Ivan Lewis, minister for care services, said: "This additional investment is testimony to our confidence in social enterprise as part of the solution to commissioning world class health and social care services.
"Increasingly, we are seeing social enterprises delivering the innovative and personalised services that people rightly expect."
Such developments may be of interest to those seeking work in the health and social care sector and could help many organisations to maintain sustainable efficiencies.
Organisations such as women’s refuges and those which work with the elderly are among those set to benefit.
In January it was revealed that over £4 million is to be invested into groups providing services to young people and families in Wales.
More about sustainable efficiencies.
