Lancaster council ranked “good” in latest CPA

Posted in General on the February 15th, 2008

Lancaster city council is offering an improving service to its residents, it has been revealed.

In the latest report by the Audit Commission, the comprehensive performance assessment (CPA) rating for those working for the public sector body is now deemed as "good".

A previous study by the commission had given the local authority a "fair" rating.

The commission pointed out that during the past three years Lancaster city council has become stronger on 75 per cent of its comparable national performance indicators.

In addition, the council was praised for improving services such as recycling and housing benefits.

Such news might be of interest to people seeking work within the public sector and those looking to use a regional recruitment portal to attract such candidates.

Mike Thomas, senior manager at the Audit Commission, said: "The council has delivered impressive results through its neighbourhood management work and is delivering some notable physical and economic regeneration schemes.

"It has improved its own arrangements and better prioritisation and performance management have significantly improved services."

Earlier this month, the commission reported that North Shropshire council is offering its residents a better standard of service.
