Funding announcement made for Northern Ireland local government
Those working in the public sector in Northern Ireland may find that their organisations receive a funding boost, it has emerged.
Last week, the department of the environment announced that a £2 million funding package had been issued for the Northern Ireland Local Government Association.
Speaking at a Strategic Leadership Board meeting, Arlene Foster, environment minister, claimed the investment signifies the network partner links between central government and local authorities.
She said: "This is an important step in the developing relationship between central and local government and shows the commitment of my department to working in partnership with local government to deliver new structures and improved local services."
Consequently, such news might be of interest to those people seeking jobs in the public sector, in addition to organisations looking to make use of a regional recruitment portal in which to attract such candidates.
Last month, it was revealed that Suffolk Coastal had received some £385,000 to help improve employment opportunities, enterprise and business growth in Felixstowe.
However, Colin Hart, Suffolk Coastal cabinet member, claimed that effective regeneration of the resort would only be achieved if network from both the private and public sector worked together.
