Sheffield council ‘performing strongly’
Sheffield city council is continuing to perform strongly, a new Audit Commission report shows.
In its comprehensive performance assessment (CPA), those working for the public sector body maintained their four-star rating - the highest ranking possible.
It was especially praised for its strong leadership and consulting with network partners and residents when setting out plans and priorities.
Sue Sunderland, senior manager for the Audit Commission, said: "The council and its partners have extensive knowledge of the social, economic and environmental challenges Sheffield faces and are using this knowledge to address those challenges."
The commission also reported that the council is making improvements in the health of children and young people and is doing a good job in safeguarding the vulnerable, news that may be of potential interest to those seeking social care jobs.
Earlier this week, the commission rated Newark and Sherwood district council as offering a "good" service to its residents.
