Fenland district council receives Audit Commission praise

Posted in General on the December 18th, 2007

Fenland district council is offering an improving service to its residents, a new report shows.

In findings from the Audit Commission, the comprehensive performance assessment (CPA) rating for those working for the public sector body has now been judged as “excellent”.

In comparison, the commission’s previous inspection saw the council be given a “fair” ranking.

The authority was especially praised for its work with network partners.

As a result, the news may be of interest to those seeking jobs in the public sector and organisations looking to use a regional recruitment portal to select such candidates.

Andy Perrin, senior manager for the Audit Commission, said: “Fenland district council has made significant progress since its last corporate assessment.

“It has strengthened the systems necessary to deliver improvement which has resulted in improved services and outcomes that address local priorities and community needs.”

The CPA analyses a local authority’s ambitions, its capacity to improve the services it offers and what objectives it has achieved since its last assessment.

Earlier this month, Lambeth council was described by the commission as providing “good” community safety services.
