Northamptonshire council providing ‘excellent services for young’
Northamptonshire county council has been praised for its provision of youth services, it has emerged.
In an annual report by the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted), those working for the public sector body were described as providing an "innovative" approach in delivering services for young people and children.
As a result, Northamptonshire council and its network partners have received a two-star rating from Ofsted.
Meanwhile, 90 per cent of children and young people with learning difficulties or disabilities have had a transition plan to adult care services, news that could be of interest to those seeking social work jobs and recruiters using a regional recruitment portal to attract candidates.
Joan Kirkbride, cabinet member for children and young people, said: "There is much for us to be proud of in this report, especially the praise Oftsed has given to the new way youth services operate.
"I am also very pleased with our progress in relation to looked after children whose life chances and welfare are not only a government priority but also a county council one."
Earlier this week, Gateshead council was described as providing "outstanding" services for children.
