Support is “essential” for third sector leaders
Old and young leaders operating in the third sector are set to share their experiences at an industry networking event, it has been revealed.
The New Beginnings event in London will allow aspiring chief executives with jobs in the third sector to meet those who are preparing to retire from such positions.
Astrid Kirchner, head of leadership development from the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations, said: "These publications fill the gaps for third sector leaders preparing to make a new beginning.
"Learning and support is essential from the very beginning of a leadership journey through to the final stages."
She claimed that the bringing together of future and existing chief executives presents "a fantastic opportunity", news which could be of interest to those looking for talent management solutions.
The event comes as two publications targeted at chief executives - First 100 Days and Leaving the Organisation - are launched, giving public sector leaders guidance on beginning and completing such roles.
In related news, the National Council for Voluntary Organisations recently launched its Leadership Services programme aimed at helping leaders working in the voluntary sector to colloborate with others, access research and improve opportunities for personal development.
