Housing regeneration agency wins awards
English Partnerships has been rewarded for its work in helping to provide affordable housing, it has emerged.
At the Housebuilding Innovation Awards earlier this month, the national regeneration agency’s scheme in New Islington, in east Manchester, was awarded as being the best example of community consultation for a housing project.
Meanwhile, the Chimney Pot Park in Salford, a scheme intended to revitalise an ailing housing area, was shortlisted for best marketing innovation, news that may be of interest to those seeking planning jobs.
Steve Carr, head of policy and economics at English Partnerships, said: "I am delighted to see so many of our projects gaining recognition from the industry we work so closely with."
He added that along with its network partners, the firm is "working hard to raise the bar in design, quality and innovation", moves which are crucial if each of its developments are to provide affordable housing for communities.
The company also received accolades for various projects in Telford and Northampton.
Speaking earlier this year, Gordon Brown reported that £8 billion is set to be invested into affordable social housing over the coming years.
