Scottish Social Services Council gets new convener
A new convener has been appointed for the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) by children and early years minister Adam Ingram, it has emerged.
In a development which may be relevant to those interested in public sector work, Mr Ingram announced Garry Coutts as the council’s convener, who will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of a forthcoming report and a specific workforce review.
Mr Coutts currently runs a training firm which offers communications and media skills to those in the voluntary, private and public sectors.
"I am delighted that Garry Coutts has agreed to accept the position as convener of the SSSC," Mr Ingram commented.
The SSSC is charged with improving the work standards of the 138,000 social service employees across Scotland.
