Shelter: New housing will make a “huge difference”
Shelter has declared that the government’s housing policy is a “significant step forward” in attempts to tackle Britain’s growing housing crisis.

Seeda welcomes housing green paper
The South East England Development Agency (Seeda) has welcomed the provision of the new government green paper on housing, claiming that it "offers strong practical direction to local authorities and their partners" in the region.
According to Seeda, the new green paper brings together all the growth points for housing in the UK from Communities and Local Government (CLG) and outlines ways in which ministers plan to reach the prime minister’s target of three million new UK homes by 2020. Continue reading…

A new report from the Third Sector Review indicates a sea change in the government’s assessment of the voluntary and community sector, according to one representative body.
The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) comments that the report demonstrates an increasingly clear comprehension of the sector, which accommodates not only its role as a network partner for service delivery but also the wider operations of the not-for-profit sector. CLG sources land for new homes planning
A recent pledge by prime minister Gordon Brown to increase the affordable housing supply by three million homes over the next 13 years has prompted some government departments to report on the supply of land available to be consider for planning.
