Governance Hub announces new grants

Posted in Charity/Voluntary on the July 10th, 2007

Umbrella organisations and federated charities could benefit from new grants intended to fund the development of governance, it has been announced.

Funding has been made available to increase governance capacity and encourage best practice in the third sector, as well as supporting trustees and advisers, from the Governance Hub’s partnership programme.

ThirdSector.co.uk reports that, by funding larger organisations, the hub hopes to improve governance throughout the sector.

The Governance Hub is a partnership of organisations, dedicated to increasing the supply of appropriately skilled trustees and board members in the voluntary and community sector.

It is one of six hubs developed by the Home Office to increase capacity and improve the workings of the third sector.

Today the Governance Hub also announced the publication of a new guide on managing funds for organisational development work, which it produced in a collaborative effort with the Workforce Hub.
